Okay, so I've had my MacBook Pro for less than a month and I am having problems already.

I had Safari, iTunes, MSN, and Limewire running, and then Limewire froze up on me and then completely froze the computer. I had to shut down completely and then when I rebooted it took forever to startup and has done so ever since. When I do finally get into my desktop, the computer runs very slow, the mouse/trackpad is very slow as well, and it periodically freezes for maybe 20 seconds at the most. I really can't do anything on it at this point.

I was able to delete Limewire and MSN, thinking maybe that would do it, but it didn't. I called Apple support and they told me run a Disk Utility on it, and I did, and it showed everything was fine.

Has anyone had anything similar happen to them? Any solutions? I have no idea what's going on!

perhaps too if you do a clean re-install, make two partitions. An main system, and backup system. Keep the backup free of third party apps That way if you have troubles in the future you can rule out hardware from software issues.

just my experience

I would sell the computer. You will always be in harms way, trying to run Limewire on an Apple. Of course, you will have even more on a PC, but at least you will be entertaining the Windows message boards with all of the problems you are going to have.

If you did any kind of Google search about Limewire, you would quickly learn that it is the worst thing you can install on a computer, next to a sledgehammer.

If you decide to keep the computer, wipe it clean and do a complete, fresh install. Then stay away from Limewire. Obtain your software legally.
