So ive been trying to duel boot my imac for s long as ive had it, (about a year now). i have an external hard drive, ive backed everything up.
When running boot camp assistant i try to partition the drive but tells me it cant, saying,
"Back up the disk and use Disk Utility to format it as a single Mac OS Extended (Journaled) volume. Restore your information to the disk and try using Boot Camp Assistant again."
Ive backed it up. when i go to disk utility, its already in that format. ad it wont let me restore the disk.
So i went into best buy and talked to the computer guy. He told me the following
"inserst the osx install disk then restart it. when the apple logo appears hit command D, to bring u a little window, here select boot from disk, then it'll give you the option to restore. After you restore it, then run boot camp and partition it, install windows, then run software updates on OSX and bring your stuff over from the external HD."
I only got to the restart part, when the apple logo appears i hit command D, but nothing happens.
any help would be appreciated, thanks
