So I went to the Mac App Store downloaded DP 4 and it downloaded flawlessly. Then I clicked the app icon and selected my main HDD (which is currently running DP 2). Every loaded good and it asked me to restart my computer I did that. Then, it brings me to another install window everything goes well for about 5 minutes and then it tells me it can't install and to trying restarting my computer and to try again. I have tried re-downloading Preview 4 from Mac App Store and it doesn't seem to work.

Anyone have this problem? Anyone have solutions to this problems?

Same thing happened to me on this install. Boot from your SL disk, repair your lion drive. It will fix some errors and continue with the install. You can only download it once.

I'm having the same problem, but I can't repair my Lion Drive.

The reason being is that Lion (DP3) is my only OS on this computer (it's just a laptop I use to mess around with). When I go into disk utility, by running the Lion DP4 install file, it says that the Disk Repair failed because it could not unmount my HD.

Any help on this issue would be awesome. Thanks!

I fixed it. I found a folder when I clicked my Macintosh HD icon. I think it said Mac OS X Installer. I deleted it and then tried installing and it worked. :)

Thanks for the tip.

I saw that folder and deleted it. Emptied the trash and tried to re-install.

I still received the same error @ the 30 minute mark.

same here. i emptied the trash after deleting the photo and it still didn't work. Lion is my only OS on my MBP. Somebody please help!

I already loaded my SL disk. Ran disk utility and repaired the macintosh hd. Restarted the computer then tried to reinstall and still doesnt work. Do you think repairing the permissions as well will have a serious impact? I'm asking a legitimate question. No sarcasm itnended.

Failed again...I repair permissions and disk. restarted and launched the lion installer again. I dont know what else to do.

I spoke to soon...It didnt fail. However, i anticipated a fail because it was hanging on 28 minutes like it did the other 400 times I tried to install. It is now on 22 minutes left which I have never seen before.

The update seems alot less buggy, still having full screen safari bugs though.

I installed mine through OSX 'Software update...' tool.

After reboot and installing, the computer rebooted then launched the login screen in complete darkness. The back light on the computer was automatically reverted to zero. Unable to adjust until the Macbook lid was closed until sleep mode, power cable disconnected, then reconnected, open lid then increase brightness with F2 button.

Might only have happened with me but thought i'd make the comment as it baffled me for 5 minutes.

It worked!!!

Here were my steps if anybody else has a problem.
1. Put in SL Disk
2. Repair Disk of Macintosh HD
3. Repair Disk Permissions of Macintosh HD
4. Quit Disk Utility
5. Restart the computer with usign Startup Disk.
6. Once system restarts, go into your Macintosh HD and delete the folder that says "Mac OS X Installer Data" or something along those lines.
7. Run Lion DP4 Installer
8. Let it restart and do its thing. It might hang and go back and forth and even have negative times remaining but eventually it will go if you leave it be.
