Its a iPad Air 2

I'm just guessing, but did this iPad get its iOS updates OTA/ on the device via settings, or was it updated by being plugged into a PC through iTunes? OTA software has issues being jailbroken..... Other than that, I'll dig around..... What's 'grayed out' exactly ? Edit, never mind , just the start button ......

Not sure.

The start button is grayed out.

Thanks looks like we both came up with the solution! I just asked if iTunes had to be installed on the pc for jailbreaking to work!

Yeah, the reason iTunes is necessary is because that is how the JB software communicates with the device. If it's not installed then there is no communication pipeline.
