I got an Apple refurb iPad Air a week ago. I don’t know if something changed in an update but autolock is grayed out, as well as turn off passcode and under require passcode the only option is immediately, with no option to disable. I looked online and it said to turn off low power mode under battery but there’s no option for that either. Can anyone help? i was hoping to use this for things like recipes, if I have to touch the screen every 2 minutes so it won’t lock, that’s as much of a hassle as my iPhone is.

Low power mode is an iPhone option. When you go to Display & Brightness > Auto Lock, does it show different time settings you can select, or are you saying that's what is grayed out? Are you on iPadOS 13.5.1? Is Assistive Touch under Accessibility > Touch enabled? If so, disable it.

I found out the problem. Auto lock was grayed out, I couldn’t even select it to change a time. I’m on 13.5.1, apparently it’s Microsoft exchange e-mail. I found a post on another site that said having work email on the iPad changed the settings. even though it’s not a work ipad, the administrator can change settings. I deleted the exchange account and rebooted and the settings are back to normal.

Yup, totally sucks. My company forces automatic lock instantly on screen off and requires passcode changes every 90 days with a restriction on using the last 5 passcodes. Kind crazy but I bought my iPP to use for both work and pleasure so I just live with it. Thankfully I’m able to use TouchID which works great (as would FaceID if I had it) so it’s not all bad.

I don't use iPad for work but use iPhone and it is the same in my company. I have to change the code every 90 days, it does locks immediately and hey siri is disabled and you cannot enable it.

mine’s not that bad, I have the email on my phone but it doesn’t require a passcode change. I have a company laptop so use that for work, I just put the email on there for convenience.
