I have the mac mini m1 and want to use the Wifi connection to connect via my VPN (surfshark), but still be able to use the ethernet connection to use internet as normal (outside the VPN connection).

Is there a way to do like this?

I don't think so. I know you can route specific traffic. But it would be something like. When connecting to Macrumors use this card. Looking something like "sudo route add www.macrumors.com 192.168.0.1"

Not have Firefox use one card and Chrome use another.

Have you considered setting up a virtual machine? Then you can run a VPN inside your VM. Separating it from everything else you do.

Oh i see.
Is there a way to split tunnel an app only? so that it goes trough the VPN and the rest of apps goes outside the VPN?

You need to ask the surfshark people. You can certainly do that with Private Internet Access which supports 'split tunnelling' by app.

yeah i checked with both nordvpn and surfshark but their app doesnt support it.

Does PIA vpn support split tunneling on M1 with Big Sur now?
