I want to increase the memory from 384mb, and as i'm new i need the detalied process to do it.

Second thing, were does the memory gets allocated from? What are the changes in this process?

Thanks.

it's a macbook end 2011 with el capitan , 4gb ddr, 2.4 i5.

if you add more RAM, el cap will allocate more to the integrated card. I have 16GB and it allocates 1.5GB to the card (which is kind of excessive, but OK).

thanks, but i already read that one, this is why i wrote

The VRAM for your Late 2011 MBPro is shared with the main memory.
If you add more memory, then more VRAM will be made available.
You can upgrade to 16GB, if you like.
You do that by removing one or both sticks, and installing one or two with more capacity.
There's detailed instructions (step by step process :D ) for doing that at various sites that sell memory upgrades.
One of those replacement guides here.
You don't have to purchase the upgrade RAM from that site, as long as what you get is compatible with your MBPro.

Direct from Crucial, not a bad price... and they support what they make and sell.
