Hello to all,
I wanted to ask information on the ATI 5770 card .
I managed to find an ATI HD 5770 graphics card priced at 100 Euros . This person told me that the card was installed on a Mac Pro of 2009 .
I currently have a Mac Pro 2006 ( 1.1 ) . According to you it is compatible with my Mac , or there may be problems ?
Thank you,
Vincenzo

We just did this on a 1.1 and put el capitan on it with the 5770. Worked fine although the mac pro's fans seem to kick up a lot more. I think it's not because of the video card but because of el capitan likely not dealing perfectly with the 1,1.

I don't believe thats the case, from Snow Leopard to current El Capitan Public Beta fans in my 1,1 are acting just the same. For the most of the "desktop use" they're at minimum speed (500, 500, 600 and 600 rpm).
But mu MP is a bit louder with Gigabyte's Windforce coolers on HD7950, though.

Edit: With Sapphire's HD6850 it was just as quiet as with 7300GT, so it's the GPU (in my case).
