HD keeps filling up!

Hi,

I am running the latest version of Yosemite and barely restart my macbook. During a 24 hour period I notice that my hard drive takes up tons of space for no reason. I am not downloading or adding any media to my drive, yet it seems to get filled up.
A restart won't change anything. Any ideas?

All my backups go on my time capsule.

Mmmm, not quite. Time Machine keeps local backups too. You can adjust this, I think.

You might check your disk occupation : "Backups" are Time Machine local snapshots.

You can disable local snapshots if you wish.
