Hi all,

It seems that my iPhone cannot play HD tv shows downloaded thru iTunes. Am I doing something wrong? I get the message that the video cannot be played on the device.

I want to watch these shows on my 1080p hdtv through the apple component cables. Not possible?

Thanks in advance.

The iPod and iPhone don't support HD playback. I got an Apple TV for $104 today ($129 with fees and cashback) at Sam's Club, you might like to look around your local club. They're discontinuing the item.

Video formats supported: H.264 video, up to 1.5 Mbps, 640 by 480 pixels, 30 frames per second, Low-Complexity version of the H.264 Baseline Profile with AAC-LC audio up to 160 Kbps, 48kHz, stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4, and .mov file formats; H.264 video, up to 2.5 Mbps, 640 by 480 pixels, 30 frames per second, Baseline Profile up to Level 3.0 with AAC-LC audio up to 160 Kbps, 48kHz, stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4, and .mov file formats; MPEG-4 video, up to 2.5 Mbps, 640 by 480 pixels, 30 frames per second, Simple Profile with AAC-LC audio up to 160 Kbps, 48kHz, stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4, and .mov file formats

And any output via component would certainly be 480i.
