I hava a MBA 2010 connected to a TV through HDMI (mini-DP-HDMI adapter)

I have 2 questions:

1. How do I disable the MBA going to sleep when it's lid is closed when connected to the TV (it's running on battery power and goes to sleep)

2. Upon playing a 1080p movie in PLEX, how can I make it play 1080p on the external screen (it defaults to the MBA resolution of 1360*768

Thank you guys!

1.
2.
System Preferences > Displays > Arrangement > uncheck "Mirror Displays".

MRoogle is a good tool to search these fora for already existing threads about questions you have. It might be able to answer you quicker than waiting for an answer.

That is because now the display is extended and you have to move windows over there to see them. See the "Arrangement" tab on where the display is positioned related to the MBA's display. I don't know Plex, but maybe you have to drag the Menu Bar over to the second display.

THE power-adapter has to be connected,
one way to have it closed and everything on THE external screen is do a restart/reboot and before startup sound close the Air, then it'll keep on booting with only the external screen on. Also you can close it without reboot but wake it up with à mouse.
