Hey, earlier I bought an Eyetv Hybrid. I hooked up my Xbox 360 to it by the composite video connectors and was disappointed to find out that it only shows in 480p. Is there an adapter or something that will enable me to either connect my hdmi or vga connecters to the s-video or the composite connecters? Thanks.

I believe the original Xbox 360 only comes with 480p cables there is an HD version of the composite cables available on Amazon. I think that might be what you want.

You can always check your own cable. There should be a little flip switch that changes mode from 480p to 720p/1080p mode.

Thanks for replying. I have the elite so I have the high definition cables. But are you saying that they sell hd composite video cables? Will that enable me to go 720 or 1080p(I have iMac 24")?

*There's a switch that changes between "TV" and "HD" but the TV is for the composite cables and the HD is for the vga cables or the hdmi cable. It wont let me change the resolution in the dashboard if it isn't flipped to "HD" (I DONT THINK)

Posters are getting confused over 'composite' and 'component'

Also the orginal 360 (at least the premier model not core) came with a component/composite cable, and not just composite.

And no - you cant go from HDMI to Svideo or composite, and even if you could it would still end up being a composite or svideo signal and one that does not carry the HD signal so you will still have NO HD picture.

Besides the EyeTV Hybrid does not support 720p/1080i regardless.

The EyeTV Hybrid only supports HD via its own digital tuner. The composite/Svideo inputs are for standard def only. The best quality connection you can get between your Xbox 360 and the Hybrid is via an Svideo connection. This is better than composite but still only standard 480i. Not even 480p is supported through the analogue inputs.

does elgato have a product out that supports 720p/1080i/1080p? I have cable TV btw, and I also need to be able to watch mpeg4 channels
