HDCP Problem with HD Television

A few days ago I bought a new 2nd Generation Apple tv to play through my HD Television. It works fine for YouTube, Podcasts and for picking up my iTunes music from my pc and playing on the television.
The problem is that it will not play anything from Vimeo or from WSJ or ITunes Movies that are HD. My television is a Samsung (MODEL LE40B530/LE40B541) bought in 2010 as "HD Ready".
If I select any HD Movies in ITunes or ANYTHING in Vimeo or WSJ, it starts its whirly download thing and then stops with a big Yellow Message : "This Content Requires HDCP for playback. Either your HDMI cable isn't properly connected or your HDMI connection doesn't support HDCP. Please reconnect the HDMI cable from your Apple TV and try again".
I have tried reconnecting the HDMI cable and that doesn't solve the problem.
This is a straight out-of-the-box Apple tv - no "jailbreaking" or similar has been attempted.
Anybody got any advice or suggestions.

My guess is that your HDMI cable does not support HDCP, you may had a old one, go get yourself a new one.

Many Thanks - I will follow that link and see if I find a solution there. Getting a better HDMI cable would be fairly easy and relatively cheap and I will try that. My fear is that the televison set itself might be the problem - the user manual does not make any specific mention of HDCP.

It is possible, but rare, in any case you can try all that, get a new cable and see, if anything fail, you may need to look into other solution like Jailbreaking, Plex, XBMC, and such.

Just a suggestion, but try a different HDMI socket on the TV, on some TV's one of the HDMI sockets could also be a shared DVI port which may not support HDCP.

I tried that because the socket I was using at the side of the television was next to a DVI port and I thought that this might suggest that it did not support HDCP. No luck however - no change when I reconnected to a different HDMI socket at the back of the set.
Maybe I should try a new HDMI cable after all.
