Hi,

Joined this forum to see if anyone could help with an issue I've been having for a while. I'm unable to get audio output through HDMI on my Mac Pro 5,1. It doesn't appear as an option in the Sound panel in System preferences, nor does HDMI appear under the Audio tab in System Report.

I'm told that this means the Mac Pro just cannot output audio through HDMI, however it works perfectly fine when I Bootcamp Windows.

The HDMI comes out of an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680 and all the drivers are up to date.

If anyone could help, I'd really appreciate it!

Thanks!

Thank you

That's incredible works brilliantly thank you!

Does anyone have HDMI audio working on 10.10 PB4 with a MacPro4,1 or MacPro5,1? Seems to work fine for me on 10.9, but I don't see the option on 10.10.

Not on PB4 but works for me in GM Candidate 1 (14A379a). Requires the boot-arg "kext-dev-mode=1" though.

Could you by any chance explain how to do that please? I'm not too great at these things. Would be nice to get it working for 10.0 :)

Via terminal it's described in post #126 in the HDMIAudio Guide linked above.

Afaik the current version of Trim Enabler, v3.2.6 automatically enables the kext-dev-mode as well. More info here.
