Has anyone else had an issues with apple tv and hdmi after either 3.0 or 3.01?

The issue I am having is I have the ATV on the same HDMI input as always and my cablebox on the other. Works fine after I power it up.

If I switch inputs to my Cable box and then go back to the ATV, the next day, the screen is black and the white light on the front is solid and the ATV does not come back up no matter what I press on the remote.

I have to physically unplug the ATV. Then it comes up no problem. I took this away with me on vacation, the week prior and pluged in into the tv there and it was up for the whole week, although I really did not change the inputs on the TV then or if I did it wasn't turned off the ATV HDMI input for any great length of time. I haven't used the ATV for amonth or two prior so no idea if this was happening prior.

Yes, I had the same issue.

Found it to be a problem with the HDCP handshake for 1080i. I backed the aTV down to 720p - which is all it can output anyway - and all is well. It's been running flawlessly ever since.

Cool I'll test that out later. My TV is also a 1080i as well.

The second part I have heard before but makes no sense ("720P - which is all it can output anyway"). This can't be true. In order to set the device to 1080i output, it must be upconverting any lower content to full 1080i (not sure if there is also a choice for 1080p, I am not in front of it now). If I connect it to my projector, which is only 720p, it will only show output at 720p. If what you said was true, I then can set the output to 1080i and still get a picture. But I cannot. ATV, should be able to output a 1080i signal. The issue is more that all of Apples HD content is only 720p.

I have the same problem, agree with cdavis11, take it down to 720 and it seems to work great. Wish Apple would test these updates before they release them !
