I'm having hdmi "no signal detected" issue with the brand new apple tv that I just purchased. It Happens when I select different hdmi input or turn off the tv and turn it right back on. There are two hdmi ports on my HDTV. Apple tv and the xbox are plugged in to the ports. I tried different hdmi cables and other hdmi port but I'm having the same issues. I have to unplug/plug the power from apple tv every time this happens. My hdtv is pioneer krp500m.

Please help.

I know that you mentioned that you tried different HDMI cables, but this sounds a lot like an HDMI handshake problem. Are the two cables that you tried both the same quality? You might try going to a big box electronics store and buying a good quality HDMI cable and seeing if that fixes your issue; if it doesn't than you can return the cable (and we can debate the ethics about buying and returning later...)

Just my $0.02

Take it to the Apple store, seen to be a defective unit failing to detect the active HDMI input.

Yep, it was the hdmi cable! I tried non-active hdmi cable and no more issue!

Thanks for the help guys!
