I have a MacBook Pro 14 inch with M3 Pro chip and just bought the Mac Studio external display monitor. Can the monitor be hooked up to the computer from the montior's usb port to the computer HDMI port? I am using the usbc port on the computer and happy with this arrangement but asking out of curiosity.

If you are referring to the Apple Studio Display, then answer is no. ASD is Thunderbolt only… which uses USB-C physical connection type.
