HDMI vs VGA

I don't know if it's just me, but VGA seems worse. Kind of mushy, I really don't know how to explain it...

It's an asus LED 24" monitor.


1) HDMI 1080p
2) Thunderbolt to VGA - VGA to VGA 1920x1080

Setting 2 seems way different than setting 1. I was told "If I switched it one day, you'd never notice"

Am I crazy? or has anyone else compared the 2?

Ummm of course it is?

VGA is Analog

So you have a Digital Computer, that has to convert it's digital signal to Analog, in order to pass the analog signal via VGA, then the Analog VGA signal has to be converted back to Digital by your LCD monitor since your monitor is Digital. So basically you have to do multiple conversions from digital to analog back to digital.

DVI/HDMI/DisplayPort are digital connections

So Digital computer connects to digital monitor via digital connection. Did you see any conversions? No.

Issue solved. This is true for all LCD Monitors.

In other news, my DVDs look way better than my VHS tapes. Is this normal?
