HDR this please?

I don't have the licensing key for Photomatix to do the proper tonal mapping on this, and her hair really does look cool (I can only get it with the watermark) So yeah - HDR project, should anyone so inclined.

Most HDR portraits come out odd looking.

why do you want to hdr that pic? it just needs some brightening up and some contrast on the reds.

I don't see it is being tremendously difficult even with JPEG, nor did I say I thought it wouldn't look weird. Something like this would have been fine. Just wanted to provide the girl with an example.

If it's not shot in raw you may as well just lighten the image and play with the reds.

So, you have more detail in the hair but now it looks like a mug shot.

RAW works best as mentioned, but I tried with the jpg you attached. Tone mapped and a little more pp. Still not great though. Maybe you could reshoot in RAW.
