Headless mini and automatic macOS updates, question

I've got a mac mini running headless. Filevault enabled. If I enable the "Install macos updates" option, what will actually happen? Will updates get installed and the computer will be restarted and then waiting for me to log back in?

Yes. But I would not do that. I would have it download updates but manage the install so you know what is happening.
