Headphone (Gen 2 Airpods Pro) icon not showing in Mac task bar

My gen 1 APP used to have an icon show up in my Mac mini and Macbook pro task bar when connected which allows me to toggle APP settings. Not anymore. Anyone have this problem?
 
I have the exact same problem, no airpods icon on task bar, mac on 12.6 ( maybe needs to update to MacOS Ventura whenever it's out ? )
