Headphones output software deleted

My Headphones output source has disappeared.
Possible when i cleaned up the Root folder
Is it possible to reinstall Headphone or Audio software?

the root folder filled the hard drive after i tried to rescue an external hard drive

i upgraded OS to Sierra but problem persists

any ideas?

Can you be more specific as to what/where is filling up your root folder? It can be all sorts of things. For example, a log file generated by an app.

it had about 300GB of files from my external hard drive which the rescue program put there - incorrectly

i have now deleted most of it and installed Sierra
