After more than 5 years I have logged lots and lots of data in the health app on my iPhone. I would like to off-load the first 2 years so I can reduce the size of health data stored on my phone.

Google search says you can export your data on XML format but that’s all your data. Is there any way to select a date range?

I know you can do it in chunks via Shortcuts. There is an Action, "Find Health Samples". Allows for date range, BUT, only can do one category at a time, so an even bigger pain than all.

There are apps out there that advertise that they do exporting of data. Quick scan in App Store shows one that has a seven day free trial, so can test that one out and buy it later, when the need re-arises in the future.

You still have the problem of deleting two years worth of health data: no option I know of to delete within a date range, can only go on a category by category basis and swipe to delete. Looking at my backup via iMazing, there is an SQLite database that might (probably?) contain the health data, but would need to do some SQL to delete entries correctly, then restore the phone with the backup you modified, but that might mess things up going forward (phone copy, iCloud copy).

Thanks for the reply. I've checked out the Shortcuts but like you say its by category. You would think Apple would have to address this sooner rather than later as those of use who have been watch wearers continue to grow the health data each day. I think a 2-3 year on device database is optimal to check trends and continued health.

How much data have you used? I’ve just found out mine has been using 1.5 gb in the cloud and 534mb on the phone. It’s just a database data, can’t understand why using so much space!
