It would make sense if it wasn't, but apparently I've found a bug where Health data isn't being backed up to iCloud, despite being turned on. I've been running the beta since PB1, with Health backup turned on in iCloud settings. I thought it was strange that there was no Health entry in Manage iCloud Storage, but I needed to restore the device, so I reset it as a new device, hoping the data would come back. It didn't. So, I restored from iCloud Backup, and still no data appeared.

I've restored to my last 10.3 backup and the data is there, but I'd like to have the last 3 months of data back, if possible. Would it be worth it to try restoring to another, earlier iCloud backup for iOS 11 to see if the data will come back, or is this simply lost? If so, no big deal; I'll just lose the National Parks badge I earned for walking the 3.5 miles.

Even if it is lost, I may restore to iOS 11 anyway, if for no other reason than to report a bug that Health data isn't being backed up.

Thanks for any feedback!

The health toggle has nothing to do with iCloud backup. The toggle is for iCloud syncing only. The only way to manage the health data in iCloud backup is going into your iCloud backup and manually turning off health backup.

While running betas, it is very common for Apple to delete stuff on iCloud when it comes to the new version of iOS. So messages and health data may be lost on iCloud during the beta process.

Got it, so I'd have to turn off the toggle in Health in iCloud settings prior to running an iCloud backup to force it to put my data there. I don't think any of the betas have been saving the data. It was never there under Manage iCloud Storage (a la Photos, Mail, etc.). Even when I did a fresh install, nothing from Health incremented in the storage. I have a Dexcom constantly adding blood glucose readings to Health, so there should be *something* there, even if it's 0.1kb. I may try restoring to iOS 11 one more time to make sure, report the bug, and go back to 10.3 so I can have the last several years of data.

No, you should be able to keep the toggle of health on and it remain in iCloud backup. At least thats how others have been doing it. I can't test it as I don't have iOS 11 on my phone, only my iPad. So I cannot test turning on health data. But others have had no issues with restoring health data after restoring as new and not using a backup. So thats weird. Unless, Apple deleted the data in the cloud recently.
