So this is the oddest thing, and an emotional roller-coaster for me. Maybe someone can explain what the **** happened with my phone.

Im using my phone, shut it off then put it in my pocket. Decided to take it out 30seconds later, but the screen was blank. i kept pressing anything and everything, it wasn't waking. I tried my BT earplugs, and it wasn't connecting. However the haptic TouchID 2.0 was still clicking, so i know it was still working under the hood. 5minutes later, completely dead, nothing works, not even the fake Touch button.

So i go home put it on a wireless charger and plugged it in to charge. 2hours of that and still nothing.

I looked up a third party repair place near me, this is 4 hours later. And when i pulled out my phone for him to inspect, it started working again. Like i didn't even power it on. It just started working, and asked me to input my passcode. I was embarassed cause they maybe thought i was crazy.

Any explanation?

I got a new charging mat recently, could it be that? Could it be iOS 12.2?

I dunno. Can't explain it. Just glad cause i had a XS in my verizon cart ready to purchase.

"Kept pressing anything and everything."

Was any of that a hard reset?

Maybe you started pushing buttons again before it fully shut down and put it in some sort of hard reset mode. When the phone is "turned off" it can take quite a while for the device to actually shut itself down gracefully. Although I've never experienced what happened to your phone, in the future, don't try to turn on the phone immediately after turning it off. Just a guess.
