If the iPhone Xs MAX has 8GB of RAM in the 512GB version, what do you think of that?

Isn’t that SUPER future proof for an iPhone?

A12, 8GB RAM, 512GB storage

I don’t know if it’s true though.

Not true

But I like it. A hidden spec. Could be right? Why not?

Well, for one thing its ridiculous. :D

Apple have never done this previously, unlike android manufacturers, and as they don’t market RAM as a selling point it would bring them no benefit, just more cost eating into their margins on the 512gb model.

This "rumour" came up from EverythingApplePro, he might've read it elsewhere tho... but it's not true.

I heard the 512GB comes with an headphone jack adapter in the box. I hope it's true.

Even if it's true, knowing Apple develops their own SSD controllers they might have just dedicated 2-4 GB of RAM to quicken the SSD so in the end it will still kinda be much less generic RAM. When other brands buy SSD controllers from others this is much harder to do.
I very much doubt Apple put 8GB of pure generic RAM - no sense in spending additional money.

It figures that Apple will never state RAM specs (but gloat on ops per second) yet the primary reason older devices grind to a snail's pace is due to insufficient RAM.

I saw that YouTube vid mentioning "heard that maybe" there was going to be more RAM in the Max. That was just a "heard it through the grapevine" rumor. Not happening.

But Phil did mention at the event that the A12 chip did allow utilization of more RAM than the A11, which is why the S models now have 4GB, so there could be a sliver of half truth innuendo/misunderstanding, that FUTURE iPhones could have 8 GB RAM. And undoubtably in the future, years from now, they will.

Confused with the 512GB Note, which dies have 8GB while the 128 and 256 have 6GB.

Apple finally threw a morsel and finally put 4GB into iPhone Xs series.

Does future proofing even matter to you? Even if it’s true, as soon as a new iPhone comes out you’ll feel that you have to have the latest one so that people won’t think less of you. You’ll make a thread asking if you should buy it, and then you will.

It’s true guys! It needs the ram to hold that much of a storage

But somehow the iPad Pro does it with 4 GB?

Took them long for that after 1GB of Ram being a standard for so long. Still iOS 12 got more optimized when it comes to RAM management, perhaps not as good as the Note yet but we'll see tomorrow.

Everything this guy says should enter one ear and exit through the other unprocessed.

Apple YouTubers are a disgrace to society but iJustine is MILES better IMO.
