Hey Guys,

We're accepting participants for Heartbeat - http://heartbeatapp.com

Heartbeat is a hosted web application for iPhone Developers that brings pro-level reporting and analytics to the AppStore. Keep track of your balances, sales, trends, crash logs and stats all through one interface.

You can get all the data about my sells and how much profit I make... why the heck should I do that?

Heartbeat reads your daily reports for you and does all of the calculations automatically.

How do you do that? Must I give Heartbeat my login to itts.apple.com? Are you kidding??
 
I recommend Appsales Mobile. It's open source and you can compile it yourself and put it on your phone. Remember to make the appropriate changes to the info.plist and code signing so that you use your own wildcard bundle identifier and provisioning profile. The app doesn't phone home to a third party or give your log in details to anyone but Apple.

savego - I am sorry but you're going to have a real hard time getting people to sign up for your service. Sharing revenue stats with any company other than Apple is pretty much out of the question for most people/companies.

I'm happy to give my details to a desktop/mobile application for this but not a web application as it _feels_ too insecure.

I have AppSales mobile and is very good, and I feel secure with it. I checked the code just in case, and it is very well implemented using the keychain. I don't feel secure giving my iTunes user/password to someone, at best I could upload my reports so the website can analyze my data.
 
Our privacy policy is very strict. By it, we have no authority to do anything with user data.

For further security, we never actually receive your iTunesConnect credentials. We provide a Mac application to you that handles the report automation. It is against Apple's terms to give out your username and password, and we've been sure to abide by those terms.

We've seen great success with the private beta so far and we're looking forward to opening it up even more in the next few weeks.

Really? And why is that? For most businesses, sharing financial information such as revenue is pretty much par for the course. In the UK, you can access a company's annual accounts for a small charge; it's public information. My app sales don't currently go through my limited company (so it is purely personal income) but I certainly have no problem with sharing my financial data.

What this app does need is a good privacy policy however (can't find one at the moment).

I think you'll find the app to be quite popular. Don't be so precious.

A strange perception; without viewing the source code of a desktop app, then how do *you* know what that app is doing with your credentials?

FWIW, it is possible to create multiple users in itunes connect; I just created a new user with financial privileges only for just this purpose.

Regarding this app, I've just got my beta account and you don't actually provide your login details to the web app; you can:

a) upload the data from itunes connect manually
b) download a desktop app to upload your data automatically (requires itunes connect credentials)
c) write your own script that uses the API to upload your data automatically.

I just forgot about the creation of users on iTunes Connect, now this looks interesting. I dont mind sharing my financial data, was more concerned about my primary user. What do I need to do to be a tester? Or the app is out of beta?

MobileAppSales is awesome btw

Don't use this Mobile App Sales is the way to go ... its an amazing service and the programers of that are great. Support the developers they are very kind in offering the software for free.

How dare somebody think of offering something for a fee.

Have you actually used Heartbeat or are you just trying to push a your free agenda?

Most people won't have a use for that package. Most people will be good with the Mini or Basic package. If you need the Pro package, you're probably making around $10k/month on the AppStore, maybe more.

Once we get a better idea of how people are using the service, we'll up the limits on apps and the api calls. We're just trying to gauge it right now. That's what beta's are for. :D
