In the 2008 and earlier models, FB-DIMMS used huge fins for cooling, but my 2010 came without any heatsinks. The 09/10 lower section seems to have superior cooling for the CPU/RAM tray with front and rear wind tunnel-esque fans, but should I invest in some heatsinks for the dimms to maximize performance?

FWIW, My CPU temps have been running around 30-35C and intake/exhaust fans spinning to around 600-700.

my 2010 quad has kept its ram sticks at 95 to 100f slots at 93 to 97f.

I use three 4gb sticks with no heatsinks. Had machine since oct. that is 34c to 38c

translation 60c would be a bit high so I don't even think about 38c

I don't think adding heat spreaders will help maximize performance in any noticeable or measurable way.
