HEIC Format/Amazon Photos

Does anyone here sync to Amazon Photos? I've always saved all of my pictures on Amazon. I just downloaded a couple that I need and noticed that they are in HEIC format. Is there any way to get them to upload in JPG? I need to send a couple of pictures to someone through Gmail and it doesn't recognize the format.

On your iPhone: Settings > Camera > Formats > then choose “Most Compatible”. 😊 Your photos will be saved as .jpg —

Also, for the photos currently in heic - do screenshots of them, which will be in jpg with the new setting.

I suggest to simply use Apple ShortCuts to convert your HEIC/HEIF files - this allows for example to keep the original resolution of your photos.

I don't think that helps with auto upload to Amazon.

It doesn’t. It is just a suggestion for already existing HEICs so the original resolution is kept.

Otherwise: if you select any HEIC(s) and use the "share"-function in Amazon Photos to mail them via e.g. GMail or Apple Mail the photos will automatically converted and send as JPG(s).

For new photos @Mark Stone’s comment adresses your problem.
