I'm sorry about the late response, but I thought you were saying "To Hell With MBA SuperDrive!"

Go ahead and PM me, since I just got my SD yesterday. It sounds like the SD took a dive, so get it back into the Apple Store, they'll replace it on the spot.

YOu see I didn't get it at an apple store. I got it at this Advance ELestronic place. No refunds after 30 days ( or so) and I've had it for.... about 2 or 3 months. What am I to do!
Thanks for the help anyway.

true but your Macbook Air's warranty should also include the superdrive

Apple products have a one year warranty. Get them to book it in if they're an Authorised Service Centre.

I doubt that, they are two separate items and two separate purchases. However, the SD should have a warranty of its own that is at least 90 days I would imagine.

Well, that may be true but under AppleCare it is

From http://www.apple.com/support/products/proplan.html under Assistance with the complete Apple solution on the side
An AirPort Extreme Card, AirPort Express or AirPort Extreme Base Station, Time Capsule, MacBook Air SuperDrive, and Apple RAM when used with a Mac covered by the AppleCare Protection Plan

Sorry to hear that, but you'll definitely get a replacement on the spot. You may want to bring your MBA as well, b/c it might be that the MBA for some reason isn't recognizing your SuperDrive b/c it's the MBA and not the SD... IMHO. Keep us posted; Good luck. :(
