Hello there,
I have a computer with a MACBOOK PRO 16' Max 1TB SSD, but I have a temperature problem, while the device is working normally, it works between 50-60 degrees. There is a big difference between my other normal 13 inch m1 mac working at 30 degrees, is this a problem or is it not, this situation seems a little abnormal to me, do I need to take it to apple?
Thank you for your help.
(I am writing from Turkey with google translate)

Hey there,

I've got an M1 Pro 16 inch, and when I'm doing very light tasks (safari, playing music, watching YouTube) I'm typically around 50 degrees CPU and GPU. Given that you have the Max I wouldn't be surprised if it runs a bit hotter. 50-60 degrees sounds very normal to me so I wouldn't worry. The M1 is much lower power consumption so I'd say not surprising that it runs much cooler.

Ultimately if your temps are getting hot then the fans will kick in to ensure there's no damage, and failing that the computer would switch off if things got dangerously hot. I've personally never even heard the fans come on even when doing 4k HDR editing/exporting in FCP, so I think these machines are pretty good at staying cool!

It depends on what you're doing. My 16" M1 Pro typically runs at around 38C. If I'm doing something intensive it will warm up. (Another thing that can warm it up is a memory leak, such as when WindowServer uses 10GB of RAM. If you are using the current version of Monterey, you should not have that problem, though.)
