HELP!! 10.8.2 video conversions

Hi

I have 10.8.2 and since installing it I cannot convert any videos.

The videos I have tried and all MKV with DTS audio and when using IVI, REMUX, Handbrake etc they all drop out and say they have finished converting when they have only done about 20 minutes of the movie.
I have tried different MKV files and also some which I had converted previously.
I also tried this on another mac with a clean install of 10.8.2 and it fails at the same spot.

Anyone else able to verify this?

Going back to 10.8.1 fixed it. Guess I need to wait for the converter folks to update their apps.

I bought this little App: iVl

Works great, and allows for pass through of already HD quality movies. Which improves conversion time. Just makes sure to go through the settings first.

Let me recommend Subler instead. Much faster and free.

Hi

I use, Subler, iVI and handbrake depending on the original format and what I want to do with it.

I finally worked out that 3 of the MKV files I was trying to convert were actually broken. I moved them onto a PC and tested them there and when playing they stopped at the same spot that they failed at on the Mac.

Anyone know of a good MKV repair/verify tool out there?


P.S. Gone back to 10.8.2 as I need my Messages App to send from my iPhone number

Try remuxing them (with the same tracks) in MkvToolnix? (It's just a passthru of all tracks.)

MacHeist 4 nanoMission 2, try that, for the free Permute conversion app. I haven't used it myself yet.

EDIT: Nevermind, I see it doesn't say anything about MKV conversions in the app.
