iPod will not show in iTunes when connected. It does say "Do not disconnect" but does not show on the itunes menu. Any advice?
it is a 30g video iPod just a couple months old.
My wife was issued this, she is an elementary music teacher, plz help

iTunes 7.4.2
Sys 10.3.9

Two major steps:

1) Reset the iPod. If this works, you should see the iPod in iTunes, and you will not lose data.

2) If that doesn't work, what I've found to be very powerful (but not usually on the list of suggestions) is to try bringing it up in target disk mode. This often will allow iTunes to see it. Typically, if (1) doesn't work and (2) does, iTunes will make you reformat the iPod and reinstall all music on it. You'll lose any settings on the iPod, and of course, any music that isn't available on the computer.

Dude, you rock.
I'm an iPod flunky, haven't spent any time with them but the reset worked to unlock the iPod, I plugged it in and it is sync-ing. THANKS, now my wife can teach class in the morning!:)
