i have a problem I'm not sure how to explain or google for. Any accelerometer based games or utilities are difficult for me to use because the accelerometer seems to be miscalibrated.

Driving games:
I try to drive straight but it veers right. I put the ipod on its side on a level table and the car will go about 20 degrees to the right.

That peeing monkey game:
same horizantally level scenario... monkey pees about 20 degrees to the right. He should be peeing straight down... :) but

The level utilities like the Stanley Level work fin becasue they allow me to calibrate it on my own but the default setting in the ipod is not right.

Anybody else have this problem?

i have no idea what's the problem but since you claim it's a configuration problem maybe a restore will fix it.

I can't help you with your accelerometer problem, but what the heck is the peeing monkey game?

It's just a game where a monkey is sliding from one side of the screen to the other whilst peeing. There's a toilet in the center of the bottom half of the screen and you basically have to tilt the device so that his pee goes in to the toilet. i cant remember what the app is actually called and I don't have it with me at the moment. i just called it "that peeing monkey game" becasue it had a bajillion downloads and it's been in the most popular list so i figured many people would know what I was talking about.

The issue remains.

i used to have that problem, except mine was always going left. Get a replacement, its the only way. I showed it to the genius bar, they got a laugh out of it. no questions asked and they got me a new one.

As a matter of fact, i just walked up and they asked what the problem was. I said nothing and launched pro mag rally and laid it flat on the counter. :D
