When I say services, I mean Apple Music on iPhone (mine and my wife's) and HomePods, Siri on every device, Fitness+ videos, downloads from the App Store, News won't load articles, etc.

Some of the messages I receive are:
  • Apple Music says “A server with the specified hostname could not be found.”
  • For Fitness+, it says “The video for this workout is unavailable at this time.”
  • Siri says she's having trouble connecting to the internet.
This only happens at home on my home wifi. The problem doesn't happen on other wifi networks or on the cellular network. I don't use a VPN.

Everything else works on my home wifi network - Netflix, web browsing, Spotify, etc. are all working fine.

I spoke to Apple and they said it's my router or ISP that's the problem. But neither one was recently updated or changed in any way. How/why would they block only Apple services?

One odd twist that could be a clue to something... My work laptop will stream Apple Music while I'm on my home wifi network. My work laptop uses a VPN (and all kinds of security and snitching software). So any website I visit while on my work laptop thinks I'm on some other network, not my home network.

I've tried rebooting everything multiple times. And I've resent network setting on my iPhone.

I think that there's something on Apple's end that is keeping my network from accessing their servers. Is that possible?

Help me please! I really appreciate and tips or ideas.

Similar for me too, issues with Apple Music playing to my HomePod. Also, I noticed yesterday that when I tried using Maps on my iPhone while connected to my home Wi-Fi, it wasn't working until I disconnected and used cellular. I'm leaning toward an Apple update called XProtectPlistConfigData, which installed late at night on 10/8; I think that's a background update, so there's no intervention. Yesterday (10/9), I started noticing problems. Also, I doubt it's location-based, but I live in St. Charles County, MO, and use Spectrum/Charter Internet.

Yep, it's Charter. I changed the DNS Servers used on my router and I'm back in business. I just used Google's Public DNS, but Cloudflare has one too, just search for the Public DNS Servers.

Apple fitness plus has been a mess for me. My Apple Watch won’t pair anymore, as I have a series 3. Many other issues with my Apple TV with Apple fitness plus app. Haven’t had any issues with Apple Music though. I am tech savvy and the guy everyone calls when they have tech issues. Apple fitness plus is great, but it’s not a reliable.

I also had this issue and changing the DNS fixed it. I have spectrum and am in St. Charles County MO also.
