:eek::eek::eek::eek:
ill try and get a picture up to show the piece.

was getting memory errors, so took my mini apart a few times. two x 4 gig chips, so tried one at a time and realised definitely one chip is dud.

on putting the mini back together the last time i realised there was a tiny piece of metal left on the table.

its the size of an earing, its got what looks like a black button on one side of it, and 3 or 4 little wire connectors out one side of it which makes it look like it plugs into a socket somewhere on it.

the mac works fine without it.

i asked one of our IT guys and he says it looks like an infra red receptor. its definitely not the bluetooth antenna as my keyboard and track pad are bluetooth.

ive reopened the mac and looked all over and i cant find anywhere to plug it in....:(

If you had a remote, it will no longer work. Otherwise, nothing else should seem wrong.

That is indeed the IR sensor, but you broke it.
