iPhone HELP: Apple News App

I posted this originally in the iPhone section. Sorry for that mistake.

For some odd reason my wife's News app on her iPhone (XR) crashes the moment she starts reading. It does this every time without fail. I have tried to solve it this way: restarted the phone, deleted 10 gigs of apps (20 gigs free space), deleted the App and re-installed it from the App store, and updated iOS to version 15. None of these actions solved the problem.

What else can I do to get this App stable? She really uses this for her news reading but now it's hopeless.

next thing I'd try is to start deleting apps installed around the time this first happened, in case they are causing a conflict and a crash.
