HELP: AppleTV keeps losing connection with iTunes

Hello all..... I just purchased the AppleTV got it home and hooked it up. Everything was going well. iTunes recognized it instantly, I typed in my passcode and connected to the library. I can browse my library from the tv, but when I go to play something it just stalls. Eventually the "Attemping to connect to iTunes Library" message appears.

Syncing also times-out before anything ever starts to transfer...

Anyone help?

EDIT: It appears the internet is just extremely slow on the AppleTV. I've checked all the connections, single strength is full. My MBP has no problems on the network. Internet is working fine. I'm getting like 750k/sec downloads on my MBP. AppleTV update to Take2 says its going to take 3 hours.

So I changed the channel to 6 and the ping has dropped to ~1.5ms on average. Take2 Update says about 10 minutes remaining. Is this reasonable for a 6mb cable connection? I don't know the size of the update.
