I have a 32 inch 2560x1440 HP Pavilion Monitor. I connect it with my 13" 2018 MBP w/ TB. The cable run is as follows in case you need to know. Satechi usb-c dongle hub plugged into MBP, that has an hdmi output going into the monitor. When I first plugged it in, I had the displays mirrored. However, I got about inch think gray bars on the side of the monitor. I turned the mirror off and just made it an extension of the display. That seemed to fix it. Going to school this morning, I unplugged the dongle and took off. Come home, plug it back in. Perfect again. A minute, the bars appear. Sometimes adjusting the position of the MBP display in display arrangement fixes it. Not this time, the whole screen went gray. So I set it to the more room option, fixed the whole display issue. There are still grey bars. Is it too much to ask for the monitor to work correctly? Am I doing something wrong? Thanks
