help before i update

i have been looking around the forum and i noticed people saying that they lose the stuff that they had on there iphone before they updated to 2.0. before i update my phone i would like to know how to get the stuff i had before back on the phone. could someone help me?

When you restore the iPhone, you get the option to back-up your phone. The process to update to 2.0 essentially a restore, except that it loads the new software instead of the old. After this, you should have the option to reload your back-up, which will give you everything you had before, including (I believe) text conversation threads, notes and the like.

all texts etc do come back when you reload your back up after install......
