Help!

Yesterday my Macbook Pro was fine, completely fault free. All of a sudden, when I turned it on today, I noticed that the green light beside my built in isight was on as soon as I pressed the power button. It would not turn off, even when in mac osx, and I checked and made sure that no applications using isight were running (widgets, photobooth, etc.). As well, I alread tried restarting. Furthermore, when I open photobooth, I only get a blank green screen, and isight is now unusable! What has happened/what should i do! Is there any way I can fix this? is this a known issue? HELP!!

You don't need to be so impatient. You only waited about 15 minutes for a reply.

First, try repairing permissions, then check in the System Profiler to see the iSight's status. Let us know if it says anything interesting. Finally, you could boot from the install disks while holding down the "C" key and run the Apple Hardware Test to detect any problems with the iSight.

sooo yeah whats up with it? i have to shutdown and then power up again, sometimes multiple times to get it to work right....

Any news? and no, nothing is wrong with my permissions, or hardware...

reboot

I got the hint that the isight itself crashed and to get it working the tipp is:
- remove power+accu and push the on/off-button for 5secs.
- Then restart - that should solve the problem ...

(last time a simple reboot helped, but I wanted to share this tipp with all of you)

Well, this is the Mac Pro forum. You're asking a question about a MacBook Pro.

I've been trying to find the built-in iSight on my Mac Pro all day!

:D

Well, to the OP and the other person who had this issue, I'm glad you found a fix. I've never observed it with the external iSight. I don't have any internal iSights, though. LOL or a Mac Pro. :(
