I was using a jb O.T.B V1.1.2 on O2 PAYG. I upgraded to 1.1.3 to perform the jailbreak, but didn't like it and so wanted to downgrade.

I followed the instructions here > http://www.hackthatphone.com/113/iphone_downgrade_113_3.html > and got to downgrading the baseband, but something went wrong, and it has erased the baseband from my phone completely. I tried to restore to 1.1.1, but now I'm stuck on the "Slide For Emergency" screen. It won't even let me dial any numbers in the emergency slider.

How can I fix it?

Cheers

Right, I upgraded to 1.1.3 again (via a restore) to try and get back some functionality. Now I'm still stuck at the "Slide For Emergency" screen, but when I put it into recovery mode to try and flash it with 1.1.1, iTunes just gives the 'Cannot Be Restored (1)' error.

Help!?!

Right, I've managed to get back to a jailbroken 1.1.2, but it still has the 1.1.3 baseband, so nothing to do with the phone function works (I get dumped to the home screen after trying to dial any numbers).

I hear that an official dev-team 1.1.3 jailbreak is coming out tomorrow. If I use that, will my phone become operational again, due to the new baseband?

Cheers

hi!

Hi! I am not an expert but seems to me that you have followed instructions for downgrading baseband for bootloader 3.9. Since you have 1.1.2 otb your baseband is 4.6 which means that you can not downgrade it without hardware opening your phone. So you are like me stuck on jailbreaked 1.1.2 with new baseband. I think we have to wait new JB for 1.1.3 otb or updated 1.1.2 via iTunes. When it comes we still wont be able to have phone functions untill new ***sim arrives (or maybe some software solution). I hope it will happen soon.

baseband

Of course, you can also wait for SW method for downgrading baseband (for 1.1.2 otb, bootloader 4.6). I am really not interested in HW method - opening my phone.

luke, how did you manage to get around the 'Cannot Be Restored (1)' error when trying to downgrade 1.1.3 ?

ive tryed iphuc but that gives me a bus error when i try to copy the wtf file.

Also if anyone could give me a clue if my iphone has the 4.6 bootloader it says its a week 45 o2 phone, i bought it pretty much the week they came out over here in the uk.

really wish i hadnt updated the bloody thing now. gotta live with my old sony erriccson, you forget how amazing the iphone is until you have to go back and use an old phone :(

Does anyone know if the proper iphone dev team JB will be upgrade only because i mite have to cry.

You have to put the phone into restore mode, so the screen remains black. Hold power/home until the phone unmounts from iTunes, let go of the power button and hold the home button until it reappears in iTunes. If the screen remains black, you're good to go.

Restore to 1.1.1, then do a second restore to 1.1.1. You're now ready to jailbreak.

Oh, and BTW, all OTB UK phones are 4.6 bootloader.

I have been using a UK O2 PAYG SIM card. Would this still work when the 1.1.3 jailbreak comes out now that I have the 1.1.3 baseband?

well i got it to stay black and it started to do the 1.1.1 update and then i got a 1604 error?

any ideas what this means?

thanks for your help with the restore mode, i didnt realise how precise you had to be to get it into the proper restore mode.

I have no idea, did you manage to do the first restore? Remember, you have to restore to 1.1.1 twice.

I really cant tell. I use stealth sim with otb 1.1.2 and worked fine. Now with a new baseband (also on 1.1.2) it doesnt work and as I am infomed wouldnt work on JB 1.1.3 if you updated it via iTunes. Actual problem is upgraded baseband - 04.03.13_G which doesnt allow phone to be unlocked as before. SO yuo can activate (jailbreak) but can not unlock (have phone function) yet.

Roll on the official dev-team JB then, Nate's is more trouble than it's worth.
