Hello all! This is pretty urgent. I broke my MBP screen so I hooked it up to an external monitor, but it defaults span mode instead of mirrow and when I open any program it opens on the main screen so i can't even get to the system setting to change to mirror mode! Any suggestions?

"F7" should toggle in/out of mirror mode. I'm on a PBG4 1.67 17", but I believe MBP's have same key function.

Have a new problem now though. My external monitor is 1600x1050. Any way to use that native res while in mirrored mode? My monitor reports the signal is 1600x1050, but OSX is obviously just upscaling because everything is a little blurry and I have as much screen real estate as in 1440x900.

Think it's limited to the maxim of the smallest display.

But, how about this: set the 2nd monitor as primary, and the internal as secondary. You sould be able to turn off mirroring. Then arrange the internal (bad) someway that you won't be dragging into it by accident all the time.

That should let you set the 2nd monitor to is best res.
