Ok, so I have been all over the internet searching Google and every site out there and just can't seem to find what I am looking for! I need something that has more functions then ical not to mention I don't like the native iphone Calendar.

I'm looking for a Calendar/Organizer iphone app that also has a Mac desktop version. I am very forgetful and have a lot of appointments, and things that I just need to get done but never remember to. So, I need a Calendar that I can get reminder alarms from. I have Mobile me so I'd like to find an app and desktop version that sync automatically through mobile me.

I do not know what the differences are between GTD, TODO's, Organizers, Day Planner's, and Calendar's. Maybe that's why i'm having a hard time finding exactly what I need. I saw a few that looked good but just weren't sure like; Smart Time Pro (no desktop version though), Things (no Calendar not sure it has reminder alarms or syncs via mobile me), Omnifocus (Again no calendar). I could live with out the Calendar if GTD is what I really need but I have to have reminder alarms because that's the whole point with me being organized.

I've been using Pocket Informant for the past few months and it's worked awesome. However, the last couple of weeks it completely stopped sending push notifications. Also, it does not have desktop version and I'm not a huge fan of Google Calendar.

Please Help! I am so frustrated!!

Thanks for any help!!

GTD is just a method for getting tasks done, based on David Allen's book, Getting Things Done.

Dayplanners and organizers might have both events and tasks.

It seems most of the apps with push notification run into snags every once in a while. Google Calendar doesn't take long to set up, just get one set up, then sync Pocket Informant to that account. You can set up SMS notifications to be sent from Gcal (I'm not sure if you'd have to pay for those SMS messages). Anyways it might make a good back up for when push notifications doesn't come through, at least for events. Toodledo, an online task manager (Pocket Informant, Todo, and other apps sync to, might have some email or SMS option for reminders. Set up gmail and get a gmail push notifier app to get notified of emails sent as task reminders).

Get a spanner like the one mentioned above to sync with a desktop cal.

The other app that comes to mind is Todo, it has push notifications, and they might've added badge push notifications by now.

Maybe I should give Google Calendar another try but I've used it before and was didn't like how I had to use so many apps. What I'd like is one iPhone app and one Desktop app that sync together automatically through mobileme. Also, I'm not sure what the deal with PI is but I haven't been able to get a push notification for over two weeks now! I've tried everything including restoring my phone.

Anybody else have any suggestions?

Take a look at Life Balance from Llamagraphics (www.llamagraphics.com). They have a desktop client for both the Mac and Windows, as well as their iPhone client. The desktop LifeBalance app can be automatically synchronized with iCal, so if you are using MobileMe to sync between your iPhone and Mac, you should be able to sync all your todos/schedule automatically. There is also a option to sync over Wifi, if you don't use MobileMe.

It is one of the few apps that integrates a calendar and task management in one app. However, some may find the user interface needs updating (the program originated on the Palm Pilot and was even available on the Apple Newton!). It's worth a look though as it seems to meet all your requirements.

Good luck in your search.
