HELP!!! CANT OPEN FILES

i am new to this forums and I'm seeking for help...

I have a MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2015) running macOS sierra 10.12.1 (16B2555). i recently went back to a folder containing some wedding videos (I'm a wedding videographer) and for some reason i can't not open some of the video files cause its giving me "Item “C00xx.MP4” is used by macOS and can’t be opened." now i was able to view these files before, no problem until yesterday i was not able to open half of them...any suggestions?? help?

I'm just hoping that the files are recoverable....

looks like the result of a failed copy. were they recently copied into their current location? and, have you tried restarting the machine?

thats the same location since the beginning...i haven't moved anything from it went from SD card to this current location...i restarted it and shut it down, still nothing....

are they on the external volume or system drive? software you are using with them? I've Final Cut Pro 7 destroy clips like that, but that was always on a server mount. are you using something to have the MXFs show a thumbnail? what is that, Calibrated? or Does Sierra do that natively? Can you open them in something like VLC?

It seems that your Home Folder Permissions are corrupted. To fix them:

1. Start up with the keys command-R pressed to boot to the Recovery Partition.
2. In the menu bar go to Utilities > Terminal, type resetpassword and Enter.
3. Click the Macintosh HD icon, from the drop-down list "Select the user account", select yours and click Reset.
4.  > Restart and you should be fine.

They are in the system drive...i havent used any software with them before...i cant open the blank ones on VLC...i havent touched them at all...thats the thing they just all of a sudden went unaccessible, i just dont understand

It seems that i tried what you recommended but seem to still be the same...any other ideas???

Please try this:

Copy the command· xattr -d com.apple.FinderInfo, οpen the Terminal and paste it.
Press the space bar, drag one file to the window and press return.

Try to open the file.

It detects that it's a QuickTime folder but still won't open it
