iPod Help! - Can't sync compatible video files onto my Ipod (classic)

There were some video files I wanted to put on my ipod, so I checked on the apple site to see if my files were compatible. Since my files were all MP4, it was suppose to sync. But sometimes, the MP4 files don't sync, and a message pops out saying that "sorry, this video cannot be played on the ipod". I've checked every time to ensure that it is a compatible file. What can I do? :S
