well does it go in properly or not??

if not then i would suggest cutting the edge off it so it fits in properly. see how narrow the standard headphone plug is on the headphones? thats how narrow it needs to be. surely you can tell when it isnt in far enough...

If there is still sound coming from the iPhone speaker, then it isn't in far enough. You'll know when it works because sounds stops coming from the phone and starts coming from your speakers (assuming you have it on aux or whatever setting it needs)

It doesn't need to be a longer plug, but it does need to fit down into the recessed headphone jack.

I shaved away the end of mine to fit. They also sell adapters.

Use a razor blade.

I am using an AUX input with a 1/8" plug on it and it fits into my iPhone just fine.

Is your case in the way?
