Hi all... me and my friends are planning a huge techno party and I want to make a huge banner like 3 meters Width and 3 meter Height.

Can you give me a few pointers here? I mean what elements should I use? Can I use digital photos and if yes at what resolution do I need them?
Should I work on a canvas at 35433px / 35433px @ 300dpi?
Should I use Adobe Illustrator instead of Photoshop for such a huge project?

I hope you can help me with this one because even though I'm not new to PS, I'm new to the printed world so I still need to learn a few things and could use some advices from the masters here.

Thanks in advanced,
Cristian

how is it going to be printed - ie on your own home printer, a large format inkjet or a more specialist banner type etc

Personally I would say 150dpi will be fine for that size.

You can do whatever you want on the design although take into consideration the printing process will have an effect on quality and cost. As to resolution, well any can be used but the larger the resolution the better as it will pixelate at larger sizes if the res is too low.

25% scale at full resolution (300dpi)
So your document will be 300dpi and 75cm width and height.

When you send for output just let them know it's 25% scale.

Use whichever programme you're most comfortable with. Using the scale Photoshop will handle it fine... big file bit it'll work.

Using any higher res than this is not neccessary, it'll print great.
