I am in the market for a new computer. I've always wanted to go back to a mac for the longest time (I have a 8 year old PC now). I don't have a very big budget so I was thinking about getting laptop until I found this here.

It pretty much has everything I need and can alway add memory. I am really just a light user - music, some video editing, email, surfing and connecting to work. What do you guys think?

I would love a mac book pro but I cannot afford it. I was thinking I could get this imac, then an iPad (in a couple months) for something portable.

If your looking for a cheap Mac check out craigslist. Won't have to pay for shipping, you can test drive it and people sometimes low ball their prices out of ignorance. I sold my MacBook pro and bought a new 27" iMac and to replace the portability I went out for a MacBook and found one on craigslist for 450$$$$. Core 2 duo 13 inch. Battery will need to be replaced soon but all in all it was a steal.

Why do you need portability?... I have a Mac Book pro (13") and really wished I went for a 27" iMac. I thought I'd like the portability but my MacBook Pro has yet to leave my house!!!. I got an iPhone and that will do everything I need for portability.

i have a 27" imac and i bought the macbook for portability. it works well when out of town or at school. when the second generation ipads come out ill probably move over to one of those.
