Hey,

I‘m thinking of upgrading my iPad 7th gen and I’m unsure which model to go for. I’m torn between the 3rd gen iPad Pro 11 (2021) from the Apple refurb site or the new iPad Air. Seems the iPad Pro has better screen, speakers, FaceID And better cameras. iPad Air is newer, better chip (longer support?) Both are around the same price with the same 128GB storage.

Which would others go for in this scenario?

I’d go with the M1 iPad Pro for FaceID.

I greatly dislike TouchID on the Air 5 and Mini 6 and I expect the Air 6 will be the same. I’m OK with the home button version though.

Thanks for the replies. Was leaning towards the refurb Pro myself.

Might as well get an M4 iPad Pro. It will last you for years to come.
Can’t justify the price of that unfortunately. €550 in the difference.

I'd take the new Air, you'd get a newer chip that will get supported for longer. Though if you really like Face ID, then I guess the old Pro would be your only real choice.
